KINGSTON COLLEGE CLASS OF 1980 REUNION PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

Previous Meeting: 25 July, 2019

The meeting started at approximately 6:35 and ended 8:15.  The following are the order of the discussion;

  1. A review was done on the last meeting and the responsibilities. Maurice acknowledged his responsibilities personally as was absent in the previous meeting.  Fitzroy Smith also acknowledged his responsibilities in the provision of souvenirs and memorabilia.
  2. Mentioned was made that the 79 Group is embarking on an IT Project for the provision of computers (USD14,000) to the school and request from the group a pledge of USD200.
  3. Reference to Queens Alumini Homecomings Fundraisers and Pledge and from this our Pledge and Registration was re-emphasise.
  4. From this discussion on the Class 80 registration, Noel is to draft a proposal letter for our communication to the group and their commitment to registration.
  5. BNS Account to be opened by Leslie and Maurice.
  6. Noel is to draft an account request opening letter (???).
  7. In reference to our Re-union week; the Meet/Greet session, a next option in the NHT Sports Club (Overtime) is to be included in our options. ‘Chillin’ at Hope Gardesn was also mentioned as an option.
  8. The Dinner/Dance is confirmed and the Awardees nomination is to be done by Sewell and Fitzroy.
  9. Leslie checked out the Spanish Court as another option for the Dinner/Dance and gave details of prices and menu. Christar Villas was also mentioned (owned by a KC Old Boy).  Details are to be obtained on this venue.  The approximate attendance was put at 300 persons.
  10. The Fun Day at KC was also confirmed. Including a cook-off, DJ music spin-off and a football game between Locals and Overseas.  Mentioned off provision of drinks, liquor, music equipment (local).  The music and DJ spin-off lead is Bagga, Lagga and Dougie.  The food and refreshment lead confirmed are Maurice and Leslie.  The football lead is Patrick.
  11. The visit to the campuses will be confirmed by the Principal with discussion from Noel/Patrick.  Noel stated that this must be done before the next school term.
  12. Importantly, the ladies/spouses will be involved in this Fund Day and their participation is to be determined. Noel mentioned also that t-Shirts for the ladies are to be designed.  Rothery is the lead on the T-shirts.
  13. Importantly the T-shirts are to be purchased and the group must be visible attired with purple/white T-shirts at the events. The Church Service is KC Ties.
  14. Wayne again mentioned visibility in the group members attending the annual KC Fundraiser in Fort Lauderdale on October 5th.
  15. An electronic survey will be done to confirm the participation in our Re-Union week.
