Summary of Conference call on Computer Project

Discussion was held to determine the best way of delivering items of gift to the school during our visit as part of reunion week 2020. This decision was made at Planning Committee meeting of January 8th. Given that Lagga was already engaged in a project to outfit the school library with computers, it was thought prudent to liaise with him to avoid duplication of effort and to optimise resources.
The discussion confirmed that 25 computers was targeted and that it was proposed that the Class of 1980 underwriters the cost of the items at US$2500. Members of the group have already committed sums and a further US$1500 is needed.
With the appropriate recognition of our contribution if the computers (possibly a plaque), it was agreed that instead of a separate donation, brothers should be asked to donate to the balance of US$1500 instead of the two lap top/PC computers previously agreed.
It is proposed that on the occasion of the visit, June 11th, a symbolic presentation be made demonstrating our commitment.This is necessary to satisfy our desire to present a gift on the visit and moreso because the Library building will not be ready for use until September 2020.
