    Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
    Brothers I am shocked by the news of Dave’s passing. I have known Dave and his family since I was 9 years old. We were neighbors, attended Sunday School together and started KC together. Even after we migrated to the states, we remained connected thru football and church. His team from Roxbury always played in our Summer tournament in Hartford. I last spoke with him and his mom back in February. He was a man of God and he also loved his FORTIS brothers. Blessings

  2. Reflections Of A Brother
    Today we were awakened by the sad news of Dave’s departure from this life.I will miss his words of wisdom.We transitioned from just saying Good Morning ,to each other to reflect on the verses posted by Dave.Some one suggested we wait on the good word before we begin our day.Small thought this may seem this was his legacy.We began school life that way and I am glad the Barton is passed to capable hands.Dave would often say ‘I am a spiritual person and my reflections of the Bible is a example of my Life’.
    Let’s support this legacy and continue to be strong for each other.So much memories not enough time.Rest In Peace

We have lost our Fortis brother this morning, we were all waiting for his daily morning bible verse post to our WhatsApp group and got concerned that he hadn’t posted timely as we all got accustomed. It is sad to hear of his passing, my sincere condolences goes out to his family and friends. The Fortis family will surely miss you. Rest In Peace my brother.

  5. This morning on our WhatsApp group instead of seeing the daily scriptures normally posted by our Fortis brother Dave Cousins, we were greeted with the sad news of his passing. This was indeed a great shock to me, as I am sure it was to many in the group.

    I did not know Dave personally but had grown accustomed to his daily verses of scripture, which was a great way to start the day. From his conversations and postings in the group, it was evident that he had a personal relationship with God as he was always a stout defender of his faith.

    He will surely be missed. Rest in peace my brother. Condolences to his beloved wife, family, relatives and friends.

    My wife and i, are truly distraught at the news of Dave Cousin’s earthly transition. It’s extremely difficult to find the appropriate words at this time, to to grasp and comprehend what really transpired! However, Coleen and I were very blessed and thankful, for Dave’s presence at our wedding, last October; honoured and profoundly humbled by his mild mannerism, his speech at our reception and most importantly, his daily bible verses in the “wee hours of the mornings! These spirits and encouraging words, are always positive and meaningful and will forever be embedded in my heart, as well as I’m sure, in the hearts of many “Fortis brothers” and friend, alike! With this being observed and said, pertaining to Dave; Coleen, myself and our kids, would like to extend of sincere condolences and heart-felt sympathy, to Dave’s wife, his kids, relatives, friends and acquaintances! R.I.P my friend and “Fortis family!” We love and miss you dearly!🙏🏿❤️😔

    Just Over the weekend Dave an I spoke remembering the good times we had at KC in one Swabby and how much ball ⚽️ we use to drop pon the rest a de youth dem. He had such an incredible recollection of the good times. I had the pleasure of speaking to Dave hours before his transition “ Brethren yu irie” him sah yeh mi still wait fi dem deal with dis ting in a mi hand. I will check back with you. When I got the call from Eveton Powell that Dave passed it felt like I lost a brother!
    Dave I will remember you for the Good times we had as youth and the recent conversations we had for hours! Jah Bless Dave, Fortis forever 🙏🏼💜😇 Blessings to your Family and Grandkids 🙏🏼

  14. I am new to the group. Dave immediately called me on what’s Tuesday morning. I was unable to speak with him due to work meeting and did not get a chance to call back. Although it has been decades since our last contact, I am truly sorry for not getting back to our brother before his passing. Rest easy brother and we will meet again. Fortis forever. Fortis for life.

  15. When our 80s WhatsApp group started Dave personally called me and we had a long chat. I was surprised that he remembered me so vividly after almost 4 decades. We weren’t in any classes together at the college, his cousin Mark and I was. Dave was a true college man and was very grounded in his religious beliefs and that was his North Star. It was a pleasure communicating with him and looked forward to his daily morning bible verses.

    May his soul Rest In Peace.

  16. In his words (he will not die he will just transition out of this flesh). Anyone who spoke to Dave knew that you have to time to talk as he had a lot to say. We spoke every day don’t care where I’m in the world, we always link. We spoke about 8.45 pm on Wednesday night and he assured me in his words ( mi good man). I told he I would visit him later in the morning and then awaken by a phone call from Skerry saying that he passed was absolutely shocking to me. Words cannot emulate the bond we have developed over the years but I give thanks to the almighty for giving us this brother. His job was done here and he left an indelible legacy for us.

  19. Dave’s life continues to speak. His legacy lives on. A faithful brother and friend he gave much to build up this Fortis class of 1980. It was through this group I really got to know him and am challenged to walk a mile in the shoes of a man of his character. I will always be grateful and inspired by his service in the name of our Lord. My prayers are with his family. May the Lord be your strength and comfort
