It’s that time of the year again when our victorious youngsters and coaches will head to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the 125th staging of The Penn Relays (April 25 – 27th).
As you know the team relies exclusively on the generous support of the alumni and well wishers like yourself to make this trip possible.
We would appreciate your continued generous support in helping this year’s team of 34 to cover hotel accommodation ($135 per night), food and transportation.

1 thought on “Hello Fortis Family”
Each morning he rises like the sunshine to kickstart the vibes with his inspiring scriptures, which would sustain us throughout the day. His dedication to this daliy task has had a formative influence on this group, so much that we were reluctant to begin our daily chats and greetings before hearing from him. So dedicated he was that his sad departure has left a void so difficult to be filled by another.
For almost 40 years i had not seen or spoken to Dave. Over these years time (age) would have blurred our memories, leaving us the difficult task of matching of names to popular faces during our time at KC. But thanks to the fortis linkup for making the reconnection…BIGUP, fortis forever.
Dave called me on the Sunday before he passed to make sure i was not offended by him correcting me on post i had made. Throughout our almost hour-long conv he said, ” mi love di word enuh man, a nuh joke ting” – and i believed him. As our conv continued he said, ” a tink is a reason fi da link up yah”, then he started witnessing to me. All this time i had no idea he was ill.
At the end of our conv he said, yuh a mi fortis bredda enuh, call mi anytime yuh wah talk”; but fate had otherwise.
On reflection, his short stay in the group has impacted our lives in a very positive way. His business-like approach to god’s work is his legacy to us fortisians. He quickly won my admiration for his passion, dedication to his faith – and sense of love and care for his fellow human being. He was so many things to us. For me he was a beacon of light.
Rest well my bro, your ligt still shines.
Fortis forever.
